MOSAIC OF THE HOLDHEIMSHOF IN BERLIN, GERMANY

Mosaic in the Gable Field at Holdheimshof – Paul-Lincke-Ufer in Berlin-Kreuzberg

Built in 1911, Holdheimshof, Paul-Lincke-Ufer 42-43, as well as the neighboring commercial courtyard at Paul-Lincke Ufer 41, were designed by the master builder and architect Hugo Sonnenthal. The glass mosaic was made using a production method typical of the time, for which the glass mosaic factory Puhl and Wagner in Berlin was pioneering since 1890.
As a requirement of the monument protection approval for the roof restoration of the front building, an expert report was created as a basis for securing the mosaic surfaces in the gable field. Based on this, conservation measures were carried out.
